David + Marla // Intimate Winter Elopement in Whistler, BC

I was so happy when Marla and David reached out to me about their adventurous elopement in Whistler, BC! A winter elopement is really one of my favourite things; the snowy mountains, winter boots, pink noses and rosy cheeks. All the makings of a beautiful day in British Columbia.

David and Marla traveled up to BC from Georgia for their annual snowboarding trip. This is a trip they take together every year, but this year was an extra special one. They invited their closest family and friends to come along with them for this beautiful adventure in Whistler.

The day was a laid-back morning of primping and prepping for the cold, rainy day. Hair styled in place, wool socks slipped on and winter boots tied up. Then a rainy walk to a frozen lake for their ceremony. Personal vows were shared, tears shed and laughs had (mostly at myself for falling two feet in to a snow bank during the ceremony). Followed by a first dance with no one around on a frozen lake in the mountains.
